EURASIP Awards: Announcement 2016 Best PhD Award |
EURASIP, the European Signal Processing Association (http://www.eurasip.org), created and maintains a database of PhD manuscripts at http://theses.eurasip.org, which is one of the World's largest in the area of signal processing. The database also keeps track of monthly downloads.
Every year a committee of experts nominated by the EURASIP BoD selects up to three theses related to different areas of signal processing to be awarded. The selection process is based on the evaluation of the impact of the theses, their subsequent journal and conference publications and related citations received, and on the review reports of the independent reviewers as well as on the download statistics.
The 2016 winners are:
Emil Björnson, for the thesis titled “Multiantenna Cellular Communications: Channel Estimation, Feedback, and Resource Allocation”, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, 2011, supervised by Björn Ottersten and Mats Bengtsson.
Florian Roemer for the thesis titled “Advanced Algebraic Concepts for Efficient Multi-Channel Signal Processing”, Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany, 2013, supervised by Martin Haardtández.
Many congratulations to these winners on behalf of the EURASIP Board of Directors.

SpringerOpen recently launched a series of blog posts about the 7 SpringerOpen EURASIP journals.
The blog series already includes interviews with some of the journals’ Editors-in-Chief and with our Director of Publications Alle-Jan van der Veen.
They tell us more about themselves, the journals, and open access. The Editors also provide useful tips for submitting to their journal and more.
