Announcement EURASIP Fellows 2020

EURASIP Fellows 2020

In recognition of outstanding achievements in the broad field of Signal Processing, the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) elevates each year a select group of up to a maximum of four scholars to “EURASIP Fellow”, the Association's most prestigious honor. The award consists of a certificate that will be presented to the following individuals during the Opening and Awards Ceremony at EUSIPCO 2020, which will be held Amsterdam (The Netherldands) from the 24th to the 28th of August 2020.

Prof. Stephen McLaughlin (Heriot-Watt University, UK) For contributions to statistical signal processing in computational imaging and communications.

Prof. Moe Win (MIT, USA) For contributions to cooperative localization.

Prof. Visa Koivunen (Aalto University, Finland) For fundamental contributions to multisensor and statistical signal processing.

Sincerely yours,

Patrick Naylor

New EIC for Signal Processing: Image Communication
After 10 years of serving as its Editor-in-Chief, Frederic Dufaux is stepping down. He is succeeded by Andrea Cavallaro.

On behalf of EURASIP and Elsevier, we express our gratitude to Frederic for his tremendous service to the journal over the past decade. Many individual members of the Editorial Board have expressed their gratitude to Frederic; we are sure he will be missed!

Andrea Cavallaro is a professor of Multimedia Signal Processing at Queen Mary University of London, UK. He is a Turing Fellow and received numerous awards. He is also quite active in IEEE Signal Processing Society: he is a Senior Area Editor, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, and this month became the Chair of the Image, Video, and Multidimensional Signal Processing Technical Committee.

EURASIP is very happy that Andrea has been found willing to become the new EIC, and wish him all the best in taking up this new responsibility.
