EURASIP Awards: Announcement Society Awards
The European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) congratulates the following colleagues who will receive the Society's prestigious awards. The awards will be presented at EUSIPCO 2020 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The Technical Achievement Award honors a person who, over a period of years, has made outstanding technical contributions to theory or practice in technical areas within the scope of the Society, as demonstrated by publications, patents, or recognized impact in this field.
This year’s recipient is Eric Moulines, “For major contributions in statistical inference, in particular in hidden Markov chains and non-linear state models".

The Group Technical Achievement Award is given to the head of a group in academia or industry that has achieved significant contributions in signal processing and related areas over a number of years.
This year’s recipient is Jesper Jensen, “For his leadership and outstanding contributions to the fields of acoustic signal processing and speech enhancement".

The Athanasios Papoulis Award is given to honor scientists whose work has had a major impact on various aspects of signal processing education.
This year’s recipient is Georgios Giannakis, “For outstanding teaching, research, educational tools, and mentorship of graduate students in Signal Processing, Wireless Communications, and Data Science".

The Meritorious Service Award is given to recognize individuals who have given distinguished service to the Society in the form of significant contributions to the development of EURASIP, distinguished service to the advancement and pursuit of the technical objectives of EURASIP, or active cooperation in actions supported or sponsored by EURASIP.
This year’s recipients are Fulvio Gini, “For Leadership and Activities as EURASIP President and for continuous commitment with EURASIP over the last fifteen years in almost all aspects" and Marc Moonen, “For Leadership and Activities as EURASIP President and for continuous commitment with EURASIP over the last twenty years in almost all aspects".

The Early Career Award is awarded to outstanding researchers and engineers working within the technical scope of EURASIP at an early or mid-stage of their career, whose current work shows not only significant scientific achievements but also high potential to advance scientific knowledge through novel, timely and significant endeavors.
This year’s recipient is: Antonio G. Marques, “For contributions in network resource allocation and graph signal processing".

EURASIP Awards: 1st Call for Fellow Nominations

EURASIP Fellow nominations are invited with a deadline of October 31, 2020.

The EURASIP fellowship programme recognizes outstanding achievements of its members and volunteers. Each year, a select group of up to four signal processing researchers are elevated to EURASIP Fellow, the Association's most prestigious honour. Fellowships are awarded with a citation of the form “for contributions to …”, i.e. referring to a major long-term contribution to a technical field.

How to Submit Nominations

Any EURASIP member can nominate a colleague to be elevated to Fellow grade. Nominations should be submitted to the EURASIP Director for Awards by e-mail (berberid@ceid.upatras.gr).

The nomination form can be downloaded from the EURASIP website at http://www.eurasip.org/fellows/Fellowship-Nomination-Form_Final.doc.
The deadline is October 31st of every year.

The Board of Directors encourages you to share this information with your colleagues.

Call for Proposals for the 33rd European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO) in 2025, and beyond
The European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) invites proposals from potential organisers for future (2025, 2026 and beyond) editions of its flagship event: the European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO). Traditionally held in late August/early September, EUSIPCO's purpose is to “improve communication between groups and individuals that work within the multidisciplinary, fast-growing field of Signal Processing in Europe and elsewhere, and to exchange and disseminate information in the field all over the world”.

EUSIPCO is a well-established platform favoured by scholars and professionals for disseminating and discussing all aspects of signal processing. It features plenaries; tutorials; lectures and poster sessions; as well as an exhibition, and can host additional satellite events.

Proposals should include the following preliminary information:
  • Proposed dates;
  • Organizing committee members, including biographic information;
  • A budget, which includes anticipated financial and in-kind support;
  • Information about the location (conference venue as well as city and its surrounding area) and what it has to offer.

  • Proposals are warmly invited and should be submitted to the EURASIP Director for Conferences (Augusto Sarti, augusto.sarti@polimi.it).
