New EIC for Springer-EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing (JASP)
After completing his term as Editor-in-Chief, Pascal Frossard is stepping down. In January, he is succeeded by Maria Sabrina Greco.

On behalf of EURASIP and Springer, we express our gratitude to Pascal for his service to the journal. Under his leadership, JASP has remained our flagship journal in the Springer portfolio. JASP has been an Open Access journal since 2007, leading the current trends by over a decade!

Maria Sabrina Greco is a Full Professor at the University of Pisa, Italy. She is an IEEE Fellow and well known in the area of radar signal processing. In the past, she was Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine, and Senior Area Editor of IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing. She organized numerous conferences, and was chair of the EURASIP Special Area Team on "Signal Processing for Multisensor Systems (SPMuS)". She will be on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society in 2021.

EURASIP is very happy that Maria Sabrina has been found willing to become the new EIC, and wish her all the best in taking up this new responsibility.

News from the EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing
The EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing is an Open Access journal which aims to bring together researchers, scientists and engineers working on the theory and applications of signal processing to audio, speech, and music signals. Read more about the journal at https://asmp-eurasipjournals.springeropen.com/

News: The journal and its editorial board are working hard to increase the visibility of the journal and to improve its operations. The journal has recruited a number of new associate editors to cover growing topics such as audio classification, deep learning for audio processing, privacy-preserving processing for speech processing, etc. Moreover, we have implemented new procedures to ensure speedy processing of all manuscripts. The journal is also organizing a series of special issues on timely topics, which include Advances in Audio Signal Processing for Robots and Drones, Data-driven Approaches in Acoustic Signal Processing: Methods and Applications, and Data-Based Spatial Audio Processing. We invite researchers to submit applications for future special issues. Finally, to address the changing nature of signal processing, we have introduced new paper categories to recognize that important contributions to science can come in many forms, not just as new theory and algorithms. More specifically, the journal now explicitly recognizes contributions such as new software implementations, toolboxes and data sets, and we welcome submissions documenting such contributions!

The EURASIP Journal on Audio, Speech, and Music Processing recognizes novel contributions of the following types within its area:
  • Empirical Research: Data-driven research, new experimental results, and new data sets
  • Methodology: New theory and methods for the processing of speech, audio, and music signals
  • Software: New software implementations and toolboxes for speech, audio, and music processing
  • Review: Timely and comprehensive overview and tutorial material covering recent developments within the field
The journal's subject areas include (but are not limited to):
  • Speech and audio technology, as well as related science and engineering methods
  • Speech analysis, synthesis, coding, recognition, speaker verification, language modeling and recognition, human speech production and perception, speech enhancement
  • Room acoustics, human audition, analysis, synthesis, and coding of music and other audio, transducers, active sound and noise control
  • Speech and audio separation, computational auditory scene analysis and independent component analysis
  • Music signal analysis, synthesis and information retrieval

IWAENC 2020 becomes IWAENC 2022
In light of the persisting Covid19 pandemic and the resulting uncertainty regarding safe travel, the IWAENC 2020 organizers have decided to postpone the workshop to August/September 2022 to avoid any health risks for the participants and to maintain the unique character of the workshop as in-person event.
The exact date will be announced as soon as possible.

Authors who planned to submit papers, special session proposals or demo proposals to IWAENC 2020 are encouraged to submit their contributions to EUSIPCO 2021.
