Eurasip Newsletter

Newsletter – Vol. 33, May 2022

EURASIP is renewing its membership model and database as from 2022. Membership benefits and fees remain equally attractive as before, yet the new membership model will be more accommodating for those members who participate in multiple EURASIP-sponsored events each year, whereas the new database provides each member with complete control of their membership records.

Each membership year starts in April and runs until the end of March. A 3-month grace period will be automatically activated for those members who have not renewed their membership before the end of March, such that membership benefits will remain accessible until the end of June.

We expect that, as before, most EURASIP members will renew their membership as part of their registration for the annual European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO). However, membership renewal also remains possible directly through the EURASIP Membership Portal ( or by registering for one of the EURASIP-sponsored Seasonal Schools. Those members who have already renewed their annual membership prior to registering for EUSIPCO will receive a discount on their EUSIPCO registration fee.

Those EURASIP Members who decide not to renew their membership will see that their membership status is changed to “Associate Member” after the end of the 3-month grace period. They will keep their account in the EURASIP membership database and will continue receiving the EURASIP Newsletter and EURASIP Announcements (unless they decide to opt out), but will not be able to continue enjoying other EURASIP membership benefits until they renew their membership again.

Both EURASIP Members and EURASIP Associate Members have complete control of their membership records at all times, including the possibility to modify or permanently remove their account in the EURASIP membership database.

Please visit our renewed Membership Portal ( for a one-time activation of your existing account, which will then allow you to renew your membership for 2022 either via the Membership Portal or through your registration for EUSIPCO or one of the Seasonal Schools.

EURASIP Fellow nominations are invited with a deadline of October 31, 2022.
The EURASIP fellowship programme recognizes outstanding achievements of its members and volunteers. Each year, a select group of up to four signal processing researchers are elevated to EURASIP Fellow, the Association's most prestigious honour. Fellowships are awarded with a citation of the form “for contributions to …”, i.e. referring to a major long-term contribution to a technical field.

How to Submit Nominations
Any EURASIP member can nominate a colleague to be elevated to Fellow grade. Nominations should be submitted to the EURASIP Director for Awards by e-mail (
The nomination form can be downloaded from the EURASIP website at Fellowship-Nomination-Form.
The deadline is October 31st of every year.

The Board of Directors encourages you to share this information with your colleagues.
