Newsletter – Vol. 35, July - August 2024

EURASIP is managed by a Board of Directors that is elected by the members. The EURASIP General Assembly confirms the election results and appointments. All elected Board members serve a three-year term, renewable once.

On December 31st, 2024, three current Board members will end their term: Augusto Sarti (2nd term), Björn Ottersten (2nd term), and Patrick Naylor (as Past-President). As a consequence, three seats will become vacant on 1st of January 2025.

This year you can find the following candidates on the election ballot (in alphabetical order):

  • Eduard Axel Jorswieck
  • Eva Lagunas
  • Geert Leus
  • Gerald Matz
  • Xavier Mestre
  • Tirza Routtenberg

Their biographies can be found on the EURASIP website.

The voting tool will be available from August 19, till September 20, 2024, on the EURASIP membership portal after logging in (in the elections tab).
The three candidates with the highest number of points will be nominated for being appointed to the Board of Directors by the EURASIP General Assembly.

The results of the election will be communicated to the EURASIP community by newsletter and on this page.

Each year, EURASIP recognizes technical and professional achievements through its celebrated EURASIP Awards Program. As part of the organization’s overall mission to advance signal processing as a science and a profession, EURASIP’s Board of Directors annually evaluates the contributions of candidates for various awards that span a spectrum of professional and technological accomplishments.

EURASIP Members are invited to nominate candidates for EURASIP Society Awards that fall into the following categories:

  • Technical Achievement Award
  • Group Technical Achievement Award
  • Meritorious Service Award
  • Athanasios Papoulis Award
  • Early Career Award

For additional information on the scope and criteria for these awards, please visit the EURASIP website at www.eurasip.org. The website also gives details of the nomination process and copies of the nomination forms can be downloaded. A listing of previous award recipients with their award citations is also available on the EURASIP Awards webpage.

Please submit nominations to the EURASIP Awards Director, Maria Sabrina Greco, by e-mail. The deadline for nominations is December 31, 2024.

We encourage you to share this information with your colleagues and peers.

There is slight drop in our journals’ IFs. This is influenced by Early Access policy introduced by Clarivate in 2021 and the effect of COVID-related citations. These factors are impacting IFs of all publishers and were to be expected. On behalf of EURASIP BoD, we would like to deeply thank all those involved in the above journals (EiCs, EB members, Reviewers, Authors, and the personnel of the Publishers) for their continuing efforts to improve the quality and the status of EURASIP publications.
