The awards will be presented at the Opening and Awards Ceremony at EUSIPCO 2026, which will be held in Bruges, Belgium, 31 August - 4 September 2026.
The Early Career Award is awarded to an outstanding researcher and engineer working within the technical scope of EURASIP at an early or mid-stage of their career, whose current work shows not only significant scientific achievements but also high potential to advance scientific knowledge through novel, timely and significant endeavors.
This year’s recipient is: Sundeep Prabhakar Chepuri, "For contributions to signal processing for sensing and communications, and graph signal processing".
The Technical Achievement Award honors a person who, over a period of years, has made outstanding technical contributions to theory or practice in technical areas within the scope of the Society, as demonstrated by publications, patents, or recognized impact in this field.
This year’s recipient is Christoph Mecklenbräuker, "For contributions and implementations for sparsity-inspired sensor array processing and time-variant radio channel characterization".
The Group Technical Achievement Award is given to the head of a group in academia or industry that has achieved significant contributions in signal processing and related areas over a number of years.
This year’s recipient is Aleksandra Pizurica, "For contributions to model-aware learning frameworks that integrate sparse and probabilistic signal models with deep learning for robust image reconstruction and inverse problems".
The Meritorious Service Award is given to recognize individuals who have given distinguished service to the Society in the form of significant contributions to the development of EURASIP, distinguished service to the advancement and pursuit of the technical objectives of EURASIP, or active cooperation in actions supported or sponsored by EURASIP.
This year’s recipient is Aydin Akan, "For his leadership and sustained contributions to the EURASIP scientific community".
The Athanasios Papoulis Award is given to honor scientists whose work has had a major impact on various aspects of signal processing education.

EUSIPCO 2026: Deadlines Approaching
|
Please note that several important deadlines for EUSIPCO 2026 are approaching:
Industry Expert Talk Proposals
EUSIPCO 2026 invites proposals for Industry Expert Talks, a track that provides a forum for industry practitioners to share practical perspectives, deployment lessons, and emerging challenges in signal processing and its applications, without requiring a conference paper.
Talks (25 + 5 min Q&A) will be part of the main conference program and aim to foster stronger academia–industry exchange. Proposals should include a title, abstract, short bio, and contact details, and be submitted via email to the Industry Liaisons.
- Deadline for proposals: 15 April 2026
- Notification of acceptance: 8 May 2026
Click here for more info.
Journal Paper Presentations
Authors of recently accepted or published papers in EURASIP and IEEE SPS journals are invited to present their work at EUSIPCO 2026.
Papers should be submitted through the online Conference Management System (CMS). Eligible papers (published within 12 months prior to the deadline) will be selected based on relevance and fit within the conference program. Accepted contributions will be presented but will not be included in the conference proceedings.
- Submission deadline: 30 April 2026
- Notification of acceptance: 19 May 2026
Click here for more info.
3-Minute PhD Thesis Competition
After the successful past editions, the Technical Program Committee of EUSIPCO 2026 is offering a 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) contest for the twelfth consecutive year, where PhD students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. This activity is sponsored by EURASIP.
It is an exercise for students to consolidate their ideas so they can present them concisely to an audience specialized in different areas. With scientific and technical quality, EURASIP wants to promote transversal skills of PhD researchers, such as oral and presentation skills, and it also wants to help PhDs gain visibility of their work.
- Submission deadline: 16 June 2026
- Notification of acceptance: 20 July 2026

Call for Proposals for Future Editions of the European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO)
|
EURASIP invites proposals from potential organisers for the European Signal Processing Conference to be held in late August/early September. Proposals are being solicited for editions beyond 2028.
EUSIPCO is a learned and professional platform for dissemination and discussion of all aspects of signal processing. It features plenaries, tutorials, lectures and poster sessions, as well as an exhibition, and can host additional satellite events.
EUSIPCO is sponsored by EURASIP and technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society. Each edition is run by a distinct organizing committee consisting of an international group of scholars that are well connected to EURASIP, normally with the support of a professional conference organizer (PCO).
Potential organizers are invited to submit to conferences@eurasip.org a report containing the following information:
- Proposed dates;
- Key organizing committee members, including biographical information;
- Tentative budget, which includes anticipated financial and in-kind support;
- Information about the location and what it has to offer.
Deadline: 31 July 2026.

New EURASIP Ph.D. Thesis Library
|
The European Association for Signal Processing has launched a new Ph.D. theses database, available at http://theses.eurasip.org.
We warmly encourage researchers to make their Ph.D. theses available through this platform, which is one of the world’s largest repositories in the field of signal processing. It offers features such as download statistics and rankings of the most frequently downloaded theses. Submitting your thesis to the EURASIP database also makes it eligible for the annual EURASIP Best Ph.D. Thesis Awards.
Each year, a committee of experts nominated by the EURASIP Board of Directors selects up to three outstanding theses spanning various areas of signal processing. The selection is based on the scientific impact of the work, related journal and conference publications, citation records, independent review reports, as well as download and citation statistics.
