A Third Space for PhD Researchers and Experts
Are you a PhD researcher exploring your next steps, or an academic or industry expert interested in engaging with the current generation of researchers?

At EUSIPCO 2026, A Third Space creates a unique opportunity to bring together emerging researchers and experienced professionals from both academia and industry in an informal, conversational setting. In this session, small groups of 3-5 PhD students are paired with an expert working in a related field. There will be no slides or formal presentation, just conversations.

If you are interested in participating as an academic/industry expert or PhD student, there will be a section in the EUSIPCO 2026 registration form to indicate your interest.

3-Minute PhD Thesis Competition
After the successful past editions, the Technical Program Committee of EUSIPCO 2026 will be hosting the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) contest for the twelfth consecutive year, where PhD students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. This activity is sponsored by EURASIP. It is an exercise for students to‬ consolidate their ideas so they can present them concisely to an audience specialized in‬ different areas. With scientific and technical quality, EURASIP wants to promote‬ transversal skills of PhD researchers, such as oral and presentation skills, and it also wants to‬ help PhDs gain visibility of their work.‬‬‬‬

  • Submission deadline: 16 June 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: 20 July 2026
