TRANSPORTATION

A Coruña is located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, in the region of Galicia. It is very well connected by highway (A6 and AP9), by train (RENFE) and by plane. Alvedro airport is very close to the city center and Lavacolla airport (Santiago de Compostela) is just 45 minutes away.

By plane

A Coruña airport is located in the municipality of Culleredo, about 8 kilometres from the center of the city.

  • Direct fligths: Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, London (Heathrow), Amsterdam and Lisbon.
  • Once landedn:
    • Taxis: The airport has taxis available at its entrance. Price: about 25€ to the center of the city.
    • Buses: Every day (return trip). Price: 1,50€

The train station is just five minutes’ drive from the city center, with frequent bus service and taxi.

Passport and Visa

Climate

The climate in A Coruña is of the European Atlantic type. The city is between 0 and 50 meters above sea level, and being located on the coast, its temperatures are tempered by the ocean. Winters are mild with minimum averaged temperatures recorded in February of 9.6ºC and averaged rainfalls of 363 mm. Summers are mild with August being the warmest month, reaching an average in temperatures of 19.2ºC and averaged rainfalls of 125 mm.
