Newsletter – Vol. 34, July-August 2023

EURASIP is managed by a Board of Directors that is elected by the members. The EURASIP General Assembly confirms the election results and appointments. All elected Board members serve a three-year term, renewable once.

On December 31st, 2023, three current Board members will end their term: Maria Sabrina Greco (1st term), Kostas Berberidis (2nd term) and Toon van Waterschoot (2nd term). As a consequence three seats become vacant on 1st of January 2024.

This year you can find the following candidates on the election ballot (in alphabetical order):

  • Maria Sabrina Greco
  • Xavier Mestre
  • Esa Ollila
  • Nelly Pustelnik
  • Jean-Philippe Thiran

Their biographies can be found on the EURASIP website.

The voting tool is available now on the EURASIP membership portal after logging in (in the elections tab). The voter is invited to rank the candidates in the order of preference. The candidate ranked as first will receive 5 points, the candidate ranked as second will receive 4 points, and so on. The voter can return to the voting tool to change their vote before the deadline. Only the last vote submitted before the deadline will be counted. The voting closes on September 22, 2023 .
The three candidates with the highest number of points will be nominated for being appointed to the Board of Directors by the EURASIP General Assembly. The results of the election will be communicated to the EURASIP community by newsletter and on this page.

Now Publishers is pleased to support EUSIPCO 2023 in its efforts to produce a successful in-person conference. We have arranged to make relevant Foundations and Trends journals content freely available to EURASIP members and EUSIPCO attendees and for the duration of the conference EUSIPCO 2023. Foundations and Trends (FnT) is acclaimed as a “go to” resource for graduate students and senior researchers looking for a high-level introduction to a new area. Primarily published as a monograph-style journal, each FnT issue comprises a state-of-the-art review (50-200 pages) of its subject written by research leaders.

All members will be able to use an access code provided to download a maximum of 10 FnT articles during the conference. One needs to register through a conference webpage which we have created here: now publishers - EUSIPCO2023. Firstly create Now Publishers account, which can be created through the “Login” tab on our website. When logging in to gain free access to papers published in these journals, please use the Access Code of EUSIPCO-9516. Once logged in, you will have unlimited access to the content. This access is available from Monday 4th September until Friday 8th September. The access code will be valid for the full period but you will need to enter it every time you login. Once logged in, navigate to the content of interest. You will be able to download the journal PDF. The journal PDF versions of the FnT journals listed on the right side of this page will be available.

EURASIP Members are invited to nominate candidates for EURASIP Society Awards that fall into the following categories:

  • Technical Achievement Award
  • Group Technical Achievement Award
  • Meritorious Service Award
  • Athanasios Papoulis Award
  • Early Career Award

For additional information on the scope and criteria for these awards, please visit the EURASIP website at www.eurasip.org.
